is the day you get on the scale! Are you excited? I am for you because
if you were sticking to the your new way of eating and keeping active
for at least 30 minutes everyday then you will see a difference on the
scale. Whether you loose 5, 10, or 15 pounds be proud of the progress
you have made this far. Allow the number you see to motivate you to
keep going. Now that you've seen how much weight you've lost throw that
scale back in the closet and don't get on it again for the next 2 weeks.
I know it is going to be really hard, but resist the urge to get on
that scale. Resisting that urge will help you teach yourself how to
resist other unnecessary wants or temptations in life.
I believe if you can resist just one thing that you really really want, you have the will power, the discipline to resist just about anything. You just apply those same principals to other temptations. I'm an avid believer in confronting situations head on especially things that I know will tempt me. You may not be there yet and that is fine, but I want you to work on getting to that place in life because you can never really say you have conquered something if you never face it. You may say I know I won't drink that soda or, I know won't eat that candy bar, but do you really know or are they just not in the house right now? Instead of resisting you've just been avoiding so you don't really know how you will react under the pressure of that temptation. I want you to be able to say that you have conquered the temptation to eat foods you know you should't in excess, I want you to be able to be around those foods and have the will power to say I don't need that right now or I know that is not going to help me achieve the goals I'm trying to reach.
Now am I saying go out and buy soda and have a whole bunch of sweets sitting around your house just tempting you left and right? Of course not, I just want you to recognize the difference between avoiding and resisting and start working on a plan to resist a temptation should one arise. You never want to be caught off guard because then havoc may ensue. Develop a strategy that will allow you to resist certain temptations for the remainder of this challenge and then adapt those strategies to the changes that you are making in your lifestyle so that when you want to say no you will have the discipline to be able too...
